Privacy & Cookies Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

This policy explains what information curiouspundits.com (the “site”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is run by the Curious Pundits Podcast (“Curious Pundits”, “we”, “us”), which is jointly owned and operated by Kevin Carney and Emanuel Petrescu.

The short version: we do not sell your information, we do not run ads, and you do not need an account to use the site.

Information you give us

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, and your message. The form also records which page you sent it from and, if you arrived through a tagged link (for example from a newsletter or social post), the campaign details in that link.

The form is processed by Web3Forms, which forwards your message to our email. Web3Forms also stores submissions for a limited time and checks them for spam, as described in its own privacy policy. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in your email.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically:

  • Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how many people visit, which pages they view, roughly where they are (country or city level), and what kind of device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.
  • Server logs. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Embedded content from other services

Some pages load content from other services. When they load, those services may receive your IP address and set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies:

  • YouTube (episode videos)
  • Podbean (episode audio players)
  • Substack (the newsletter signup box on the home page)
  • Google Fonts and Google’s website icon service (fonts and platform icons)

If you follow a link to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or another platform, that platform’s own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our own pages do not set cookies. Cookies on the site come from:

  • Google Analytics, to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones
  • The embedded services listed above

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. The site will still work if you do.

How we use information

  • To reply to your messages and follow up on them
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
  • To keep the site secure and working

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep contact messages as long as we need them to respond and follow up. We delete them sooner if you ask. Visit statistics are kept according to Google Analytics’ retention settings.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can. Depending on where you live (for example in Canada, the European Union, or the United Kingdom), you may have additional rights under local privacy law, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.

Children

The site is meant for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
